1. Fly to the top of the Philippines, Batanes

Batanes is one of the northernmost islands in the Philippines. It’s one of the places to go if you want to unwind and slow down from the hustle and bustle of the city. It offers jet-setters a different perspective of the Philippines with its green hills and traditional stone houses made by the Ivatan, the ethnic group of Batanes. Life in Batanes is very different from the usual fast-paced lifestyle you’ll encounter in the metro. Dare we say that it’s even different from any province in the Philippines.

Although there are no five-star hotels, malls, and other posh amenities on the island, there are plenty of things to do. You can go island hopping, trekking, visit Diura village or sip coffee at Bunker’s Café. It’s a great place to quickly detox from technology and stress from work to get you ready for the week ahead.

2. Take a dip in Boracay

Probably the best jet-setter travel destination would be Boracay. It’s known worldwide for its white sand beaches, clear cool water, beautiful sunsets, and memorable night life—all of which you could enjoy in Alta Vista de Boracay.

During the day, you could bask in the hot tropical sun and cool water. You could go island hopping and try different water sports, too. Make sure to check your beach vacation packing list so you don’t forget the sun protection.

As the sun goes down, you could marvel at the beautiful sunset from the Dinara View Deck. Then you can party a little at the many bars along the beach before you take your flight back to the city.

3. See the magnificent Chocolate Hills in Bohol

You can also trek through the jungle to go to its secret waterfalls or Dimiao Twin waterfalls. There’s the Hinagdanan Cave if you feel extra adventurous. You can also go paddle boarding, kayaking, or cruising down the Loboc river.

The main attraction in Bohol is the magnificent Chocolate Hills. This tourist destination is home to symmetrically shaped hills that turn brown in the summer and green during the rainy season. All of these activities can have your day full, but the adventure will surely help you de-stress in no time.

4. Go back in time in Vigan

If you’re wondering what the Philippines looked like during the Spanish era, then you can fly to Vigan. It’s a frequent travel destination for history buffs. You’ll be amazed by the pebble stone road, Kalesas, and the century-old houses turned into hotels giving you a full-blown historical experience.

Aside from that, there are tons of museums and restaurants that you can check out. Take a side trip to Baluarte and take a look at the amazing animals in the zoo. After sightseeing, don’t forget to try Vigan’s famous empanada and longganisa to fill your tummy before you return home!

5. Make a splash at Puerto Princesa, Palawan

The Philippines is a tropical country. So it’s no wonder that one of the top travel destinations is Puerto Princesa, Palawan. It’s home to crystal clear waters, white sand beaches, and beautiful marine life.

Aside from taking a dip in the water and playing in the sand, jet-setters can also try the Underground River day trip and cap it off with firefly watching at Iwahig River for a magical experience.

6. Visit the Queen City of the South, Cebu

Cebu is a large island in the Visayas region, which means there are many sights to see and plenty of things to do. If you’re the religious type, there are plenty of churches to visit such as the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica del Santo Niño, and even the 1703 Jesuit House.

In case you’re in the center of Cebu, you can try the Crown Regency Sky Experience and hang a few hundred feet high or take the edge coaster that goes around the top of the building that tilts you over the edge for a dose of adrenaline to end the day.

7. Ride the waves of Siargao

Another top jet-setter travel destination is Siargao. It’s known for its waves and laid-back atmosphere for surfers and the everyday beachgoer. If you want to surf, this is the best place to start. You can also check the Magpupungko rock pools and Sugba lagoon if you’re not a big surfing fan.

Restaurants are abundant in the area, so it’s easy to find a place to eat and plenty of choices to hang out during the night. One of the most recommended ways to get around Siargao is to rent a motorcycle or a scooter for Php300 to Php500.

8. Fly to the Lion City, Singapore

Aside from the Philippines, there are other countries you can visit that are just within a few hours of air time such as Singapore. It’s also relatively small that you can go around the edges of Singapore within the day, depending on the traffic.

If you want a taste of their local delicacies, Singapore is known for its abundant hawker stalls around the city if you want authentic Singaporean cuisine. To bring out the child in you for at least a day, you can run around and have fun at The Night Safari and Universal Studios. For those who just love to shop, Singapore is also a shopping haven. But if you don’t have the budget but want some good steals, then go to budget-friendly places like Bugis Street, Lucky Plaza, Far East Plaza, and IMM outlet mall.

9. The Land of the Rising Sun, Japan

If you have a layover stop in Tokyo, there are plenty of things you could do to pass the time. If you don’t want to leave the airport, then you can just chill out at the Traveler’s Lounge. Narita Airport’s accommodation, facilities, and dining are more than enough for you to sneak in some rest. But if you’re looking for more comfort and privacy, try staying in Japan’s famous Capsule Hotels! You can go to Asakusa, a famous historic district in central Tokyo where the Sensoji Temple is located. It’s the oldest Buddhist temple in the city.

For nature lovers, Ueno Park is just a train ride away! This urban oasis is famous for its cherry trees scattered around the park. It also has a number of museums, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and the National Museum of Western Art.

For travelers who truly want to live like a local, then you’ve got to eat like one. Eat your way through the city and through your layover with fresh sushi and sashimi. Go and munch on other Japanese favorites such as okonomiyaki, sukiyaki, and freshly grilled unagi (eel). If you’re not familiar with these dishes, then it’s best to try them on your now!

10. Shop in Hong Kong

If you have itchy shopping feet, Hong Kong is a perfect place to go. You can visit the flagship stores of top fashion brands and electronics stores in the different areas of Hong Kong. Moreover, there are plenty of famous milk tea shops like Lan Fong Yuen. If you don’t plan on visiting multiple sites, you can always go to Hong Kong Disneyland and spend your entire day going through all the rides and attractions of the theme park.

Aside from that, Hong Kong is a haven for photographers because of its diverse population and culture. It also hosts the world’s first fully electric street racing series called Formula E.
