Ronald loves the peace and quiet at Alta Vista de Boracay, while still enjoying the convenience it offers.

He calls himself a digital nomad, but Ronald Po certainly found his second home a few years ago. It was during the pandemic when the industrial engineer and restaurant owner sought out his calling in the midst of lockdowns and the feeling of being isolated. 

Working in the field of capability development training now, Ronald wanted to be in a place where he could work best without feeling trapped. He has a fully remote job, so human connection is equally important. Since his working hours are usually between 3 p.m. to midnight, he knew that wherever he may end up living for a while should also fit his lifestyle—where stores open until midnight, a nightlife is present, and one that could provide peace if needed. 

His instincts pointed to one place: Boracay. 

“It was always Boracay, because there’s no other place with the infrastructure, with the freedom and the access, and with the ease of movement,” he explains his decision. “Boracay is a very small island, so a lot of those things are very important for me at least when choosing a place to stay.” 

Ronald takes in the beauty of the beach from the infinity pool, which is just one of the many quiet joys at Alta Vista de Boracay.

Boracay is also a lot closer to Manila than his other options, like Siargao. “You have the comforts,” he adds. “The internet is very good; it's very fast. You can even connect to your mobile for calls or to your work calls using just your cell phone. And then, of course, there are establishments available 24 hours.” He says it's important to satisfy his hunger or cravings even when it’s early morning or late at night. Sometimes, he eats dinner at 11 p.m.—and gobbles up a cup of taho at odd hours.

While he first came to Boracay with a friend, he was also able to build new friendships along the way, which makes the island feel a lot like home. 

The perfect staycation spot

One day, in one of his long-term stays on the island, Ronald visited a friend, who lived in a serene area in Boracay, a few kilometers away from the central town. He immediately fell in love with the place. Fortunately, he found a residential area, which he can now call home—Alta Vista de Boracay, a resort developed by Quadruple A developer DMCI Homes.
