Water and outdoor activities for the adventurous lovers

Boracay is known for its beautiful beaches, and you will find a myriad of water activities to choose from. You can go for prearranged packages for island hopping that are usually priced at Php1,400, inclusive of food and a guide. Or you may opt to arrange your own trip with a boatman. Boat rental fees vary, depending on its capacity, but you can expect prices to start at Php2,000. This is a better option if you want to have a boat to yourself. Cliff jumping and snorkeling are some of the activities you can do while on an island hopping tour.

One of the beaches you can go to is the Puka Beach, the second most well-known beach in Boracay, bested only by the White Beach. You will not find sand that is as fine as that of White Beach, but you will love it for its pristine and raw beauty. It is also much more quiet and tranquil in this area, a perfect getaway for lovebirds who would like to have more privacy. You may also access the beach even if you are not on an island hopping tour. A tricycle ride can take you there.

More than just island hopping, you can give your romance a bit more spice with the following adventurous activities:

Parasailing - Parasailing is one of Boracay’s most popular outdoor activities, and for good reason. You will love both the views and the adrenaline rush. The fees usually start at Php2,000 for two people.

Helmet Diving - Yet another popular activity on the island, the activity entails donning a helmet and letting your body sink underwater. You would not have to mind your breath so much, unlike when diving and snorkeling. You can enjoy the activity for as low as Php600 per person.

Paraw Sailing - Those lovely blue and white sailboats gracing the White Beach’s turquoise waters are more than just for your viewing pleasure. You can actually get into one! Price is usually at Php1,200 and is good for 4 people. You would want to have it to yourselves though. You will love the romantic vibe.

Fly Fishing and Banana Boating - This will have you screaming your heart out. You will ride an inflated boat that will be maneuvered and pulled at high speed. The price usually starts at Php400 for flyfishing and Php250 for banana boating.

While the activities mentioned above are the popular ones in Boracay, the island offers a host of other activities, including mermaid swimming, jetskiing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and scuba diving.

You can also enjoy land activities, such as an ATV ride all the way up to Mount Luho, where you can marvel at the breathtaking views of the island. ATV fees start at Php500. Don’t miss out on other activities like Zorbing and ziplining. Nothing like an adrenaline rush to spice up your romance.

Nightlife for fun-loving couples who like to socialize

With several bars dotting the White Beach, Boracay is known for its thriving nightlife. Some of the more well known are the Guilly’s Island and Epic (party scene) and Exit Bar (great music). If you prefer to chill, the CocoLoco Bar and Red Pirates Pub are great places to have a beer. Make sure you make it to happy hour, which usually ends at 8, 9 or 10 p.m. This will have you enjoying your drinks for half the price!

If you are in the mood for some socializing and meeting new friends, then the pub crawl is for you. You get to hop around five bars and enjoy activities for as little as Php990 per head.

Do not miss out one of the simplest yet most romantic things you can do while on the island, simply enjoying the night as you walk along White Beach. You could catch many fire dance performances along the way, one of the must-sees on the island.

Tranquil destinations and activities for couples who want to chill and relax

The island’s main attraction, White Beach arguably offers one of the best sunsets in the Philippines. Walk along White Beach and catch the sun bursting into breathtakingly beautiful colors. You can also lounge and have a drink or two at one of the popular sunset viewing spots on the island, the Spiderhouse at Dinwid Beach, located just next to Station 1..

If retail therapy helps you relax, then you should shop around the talipapa and stalls in Boracay. You can buy surprisingly affordable beachwear and souvenir items. You can also head over to malls like the D’Mall and CityMall. Check out the stand-alone Boracay Gift Shop located along the island’s main road. The shop sells handmade soaps produced by the Atis, the indigenous residents of the island. Making these soaps are part of their livelihood. You will also find stores at D’Mall that sell these handmade soaps.

After a tiring day of exhilarating adventure, one of the best ways to unwind is to have a massage. A foot reflexology massage will not only have you feeling relaxed, it can also treat other body pains. You can go to Footzeez, one of the popular spas situated at D’Mall. Their massage therapists are licensed by the Department of Health, with some even carrying international licenses. A foot massage starts at Php400.

You may also opt for a full-body massage. You will find locals who offer their services by the beach. Their fees start at Php300. If you want other spa services like body wraps and detox in addition to the massage, then you should head over to Mandala Spa. This spa has received an ASEAN Green Hotel award for its environment-friendly practices.

More importantly, you should be able to settle in for the night at a place that will give you privacy and a real escape from the notoriously busy nightlife of Boracay. Perched on one of the highest peaks of Boracay, Alta Vista de Boracay offers a spot that is more secluded and less bustling. You can stay at one of its seventeen resort-inspired, mid-rise condominiums situated in a sprawling four-hectare area.

It’s high time you take that long Boracay vacation you have been dreaming of!
